IFLA-APR Industry Newsletter Issue No. 6

It has been a month since our IFLA APR LA Awards submissions closed. We thank you for your patience as we have been in the process of judging each and every project with great attention to detail, thanks to our new Jury panel.

In other news, “World Landscape Architecture” month featured an article by IFLA APR President Damian Tang in IFLA News #100. Based on his community resilience building project (Project Sidara) in Timor Leste, the article is based around a conversation with an elderly villager who discusses what landscape architecture really means to him.

Moreover, we would like to thank our sponsors for their kind contribution to the project. We are pleased to announce that we have successfully received more than SGD25,000 for this ground-breaking initiative. We are honoured to have Mr Guru, Landscape Engineering and Mr James Lim, Uniseal as the anchor sponsors for this resilience building project in Timor Leste.

The following is the breakdown of contribution by each sponsor.

Landscape architecture as we (landscape architects) understand it embodies complexity. But to most people, it should be simple.

A recent encounter I had with some people in a village in Hera, Timor-Leste, probably summed up for me the essence of what landscape architecture really is…  Read More

This is also a project that won the ‘Project of the Year’ in the recent Malaysia Landscape Architecture Awards 2019. Read More
