Student Creates Map Graphics

The new APR Region Map

You might have noticed the very evocative regional map and graphics for the Asia Pacific Region countries on the new website.  This graphic work was kindly done by a New Zealand landscape architecture student at Unitec, Dustyn O’Leary.

“My name is Dustyn O’Leary, I am in my third year of study in a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture course at Unitec, Auckland, NZ.  I am also a freestyle snowboard coach, summer time landscaper and enjoy to paint or sketch when time allows.  During my degree I have become very passionate about ecologically driven design, fascinated by how this field intersects with other disciplines and therefore have developed a keen interest in research on complex system dynamics. My current study aim is focused on discovering how symbiotic relationships, like those that enable high levels of diversity and resilience to be developed and maintained in natural systems, can be utilized as guiding models for multidisciplinary design processes and help develop greater resilience in other anthropogenic systems like economics”.

IFLA APR thanks Dustyn for her creative contribution to helping make our new website unique and reflective of our rich cultural history.
