Graham has 40 years consulting and teaching landscape architecture in South Africa and across the continent. He has been a visiting studio critic/lecturer at the Universities of Witwatersrand, Cape Town and Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (Kenya). In 2011, he was a guest of the University of Rhode Island, USA, Distinguished International Visiting Scholars Programme. Graham is the managing editor of the African Journal of Landscape Architecture (online). He is an ILASA Fellow and received its Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022. He is the former president of ILASA and is currently the president of the International Federation of Landscape Architects, Africa Region (IFLA Africa) and IFLA's immediate past vice president.
