Dr Srilalitha (Sri) Gopalakrishnan is a landscape architect with over 15 years of professional experience and diverse projects across Singapore, Malaysia, China, Hong Kong, and India. She has worked with Tierra Design in Singapore for over 11 years on a wide range of projects, with many of her projects winning several accolades, including the President*s Design Award for Design of the Year for the Hotel Park Royal on Pickering. Her strong belief in integrated landscape design as an effective solution for sustainable high-density urban environments motivated her to pursue a PhD in Architecture and Sustainable Design at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). Sri is currently the Associate Director Research at the Future Cities Laboratory Global, Singapore-ETH Centre. Her research interests focus on the performance of integrated landscape design in high-density urban environments for resilient and sustainable urban design solutions. She has published and presented her research in several journals and conferences, including International Journal on Smart and Sustainable Cities and Nature Scientific Reports. Her research has been exhibited at important international venues, including the RIBA China Chapter Women in Architecture Digital Nexus, the “Climate. Knowledge. Action!” exhibition at the Vienna Museum for Technology and Design, and When is Enough, Enough? exhibit at the Singapore National Pavilion at the Venice Biennale 2023. She is also the President of the Singapore Institute of Landscape Architects (SILA), representing the Landscape Architecture profession in Singapore and the region. She represents SILA at various national-level committees and strategic planning groups and chairs SILA's Leadership in Design Strategic Pillar to create and promote the integration of urban environ.
