Wan Salamatul Juita Wan Hashim

LAr. Wan Salamatul Juita Binti Wan Hashim is a professional Landscape Architect, a Corporate Member of Institute of Landscape Architects Malaysia (ILAM) with more than 19 years of experience in supervising and managing a wide variety of development projects. She was the 2016 recipient of the Young Landscape Architects Award and 2024 recipient of the Emerging Landscape Architects Award by the Institute of Landscape Architects Malaysia (ILAM). She obtained her degree from University of Technology Malaysia (UTM) in 2005 and Master’s degree from University of Putra Malaysia (UPM) in 2022. She is the Founder and Director of Verona Design Sdn. Bhd., an Award – Winning Landscape Architecture Firm based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with a diverse portfolio that includes High-Rise Residential, Low Rise Residential, Parks, Institutional, Commercial, Mix- Development, Industrial and Landscape Analysis & Master Planning. Her company honoured with various accolades from International Federation of Landscape Architects Malaysia (IFLA), Institute of Landscape Architects Malaysia (ILAM), International Property Awards and Star Property Awards.  

During her professional journey, she shared her dedication to the natural environment and excellence in landscape design through teaching, mentorship, and volunteer work. LAr. Juita is the former Council Member of Institute of Landscape Architects Malaysia (ILAM) from 2010 to 2014. She also serves as a Jury Member of the IFLA 2020 World Landscape Architects Summit; the International Students Design Competition organized by the International Federation of Landscape Architects Asia Pacific Region (IFLA APR), the Jury Member for the Malaysian Landscape Architecture Awards (MLAA) for Developer and Professional Category for the years 2016 and 2018, and the Jury Panel of the Virtual Undergraduate Research Conference, University Technology Malaysia (UTM) in 2021. She was an external examiner for University of Putra Malaysia (UPM) and University of Technology Malaysia (UTM) from 2020 to 2023. She also serves as an Advisor of Curriculum Program of ‘Diploma Landscape Technology’ by Department of Polytechnic, the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia. She participated in Focus Group Discussion for Landscape Physical Quality Assessment (LQPA) for Malaysian Construction Industry at University Putra Malaysia (UPM), Focus Group Discussion for “Urban Green Spaces as an Index for the ‘Urban Green Spaces as an Index for the Sustainable Mental Health Policy During the Pandemic Outbreak’ at International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM),  ILAM Round Table Discussion ‘Landscape Architect Agenda 2050’, Post Pandemic Landscape Architecture : NOW – Archidex Webinar and Panel Member for Reforming Landscape Architecture Post Pandemic in ILAM Series Webinar 3. She is currently serving as a Committee Member of Women in Construction Malaysia (WIBM) and Sub Committee Member for International Federation of Landscape Architects Asia Pacific Region (IFLA APR) Finance and Business Planning.
