Rituparna Simlai is the founder of Studio Arth, an award-winning landscape architecture firm based in Coconut Grove, Miami. Inspired by the Sanskrit word "Arth," the studio’s philosophy is to ‘design with purpose’, where the designs foster a sense of belongingness and being one with nature. An advocate for emulating natural systems as design solutions, Rituparna has developed her path as a landscape architect with a quest to serve environmental needs through design.

With a Master's degree in Landscape Architecture from Harvard University, Rituparna has collaborated with renowned design firms on geographically diverse projects. Over 15 years of cumulative experience in landscape and architecture have led her to work on award-winning international projects in New York, Miami, California, and India.

Rituparna's design talent has garnered early recognition, earning her numerous awards and accolades at Studio Arth. Under her leadership, the studio's portfolio boasts an array of prestigious establishments, including top-tier restaurants, art centers and boutique residences, both in the vibrant landscapes of South Florida and the dynamic cityscape of New Delhi. Collaboration with renowned designers have extended the studio’s portfolio to conduct research and analysis for ecologically restorative and socially just endeavors in diverse regions such as China, Nepal, Ethiopia and Timor-Leste. She was honored with the Exceptional Emerging Professional Award by the Florida chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) in 2020.

Rituparna’s work has focused on integrating technology with form and function. Extending her knowledge of algorithmic coding for site analysis, data visualization, and simplifying complex geometries for landforms, Rituparna has been invited by prestigious universities as a Guest Lecturer to conduct parametric design and representation workshops that inspire future landscape architects to empower themselves with basic tools of algorithmic coding and embrace the transformative potential of the future of design. She has also served as a member of esteemed jury for professional design awards, alongside acclaimed architects from around the world. Recognized for her expertise and contributions to the field, she brings her discerning eye and wealth of knowledge to evaluate and honor exceptional design achievements on a global scale.
