How Landscape Might Influence…The Way We Advertise

The world’s current sustainable development model based on a low carbon economy has changed the way we advertise- and landscape is caught up in this green lifestyle trend that has become fashionable. The new engine of real estate development is centred on green marketing strategies in response to homebuyers seeking quality of life beyond the material. Where there used to be a sole emphasis on the building, real estate advertisements now highlight connectivity to landscape and people comfortable in natural elements. In this third edition of Landscape Influence, a prominent residential condominium in Singapore “The Tembusu” is featured. Praised for not only having an organic living façade that brings landscape closer to residential units, a rainforest environment is established on its lush grounds as well, where water features capture and retain rainwater through meandering streams. This project was awarded President*s Design Award, Design of the Year 2018.

By infusing nature and water in our urban framework, this residential sanctuary allows one to experience the complementary tones of landscape in a built development. Not to mention, landscaping helps increase a property’s market value, hence protecting buyers’ investment in the future. If this inspires you, then the artist’s impressions used for advertising has done its job and like the legacy of a Tembusu tree, this trend is not going anywhere, anytime soon.
